Magic Johnson criticized the Washington Commanders’ clock management after their overtime tie with the New York Giants, posting that he was in disbelief at how the game ended.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels ran out the clock in overtime before Washington could line up for a potential winning field goal. He appeared to have lost track of the time available, with the Commanders out of timeouts. Johnson is part of the team’s ownership group.
Washington had led 27-13 after Daniels scored on a 26-yard run with 11:05 left in regulation. Giants quarterback Jameis Winston then led two touchdown drives to tie the game at 27-27.
