Dan Levy criticized a joke about women’s gym clothes in Shane Gillis’ Saturday Night Live opening monologue, calling it misogynistic.
Gillis, who hosted the show over the weekend, described women at the gym using a derogatory term and joked about their shorts and appearing in the background of their TikTok videos. Levy, the Schitt’s Creek co-creator and star, responded in an Instagram post on Sunday, saying women’s clothing did not justify the insult.
Levy also argued that men should challenge such remarks. In his view, treating women as objects in the media encourages others to do the same and helps create conditions in which sexual assault occurs.
