The Chicago White Sox can clinch a place in the American League Championship Series when they host the Cleveland Guardians at Rate Field on Wednesday afternoon. Chicago took a 2-0 lead in the series on Monday, putting a home playoff series victory within reach.
A berth would send the White Sox to the ALCS for the first time in more than two decades. They have not clinched a playoff series at home since defeating the Cubs in the 1906 World Series.
Demand for seats is high. Wednesday's game is sold out on Ticketmaster, while the cheapest upper-deck seats on the resale market were priced at just under $400 and many field-level seats exceeded $1,000. Fans who visited the Rate Field box office Tuesday were directed online to look for tickets.
