Dallas police arrested Gary Len Ross, 56, on Friday in connection with the 1993 killing of Tommie Davis. He is charged with capital murder, according to the department.
Davis, 55, was found dead in her home on the 1500 block of Haskell Avenue on May 18, 1993. Police said she had been beaten with a piece of lumber and cut with a knife.
Detective Andrea Isom revisited the case and found that investigators had collected blood from a wall in the home that did not belong to Davis. A DNA profile from the blood was entered into the Combined DNA Index System and matched the name Tommy Lynn Jones, which police said Ross was using as an alias.
