A man was hospitalized in stable condition after a vehicle operated by federal immigration agents apparently struck him in northwest Houston on Saturday morning, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
Investigators responded to the pedestrian collision on Clay Road at about 7:20 a.m. The sheriff’s office said preliminary information pointed to a vehicle operated by ICE authorities. The collision appears to have happened during an immigration enforcement operation in the area.
The man’s identity has not been released. Investigators have not established what led to the collision or whether he was involved in the operation. The sheriff’s office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating, and it remains unclear whether anyone will face charges.
