Lynlee Pollis was sentenced Wednesday to seven years in prison for a 2023 drunken-driving crash that killed Southern Methodist University student Honor Wallace and injured her passenger, Catherine “CeCe” Solberg.
A jury convicted Pollis, 30, earlier in the week of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. She must also serve 10 years of probation after her release, including 15 days in jail each year of probation.
Wallace, 19, was driving through a green light on Monticello Avenue on Sept. 24, 2023, when Pollis’s SUV struck her car. Wallace died at a hospital. Solberg suffered a broken collarbone and a concussion; she testified that she was later diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and continues to have debilitating migraines.
The sentence followed about three hours of jury deliberations at the end of a two-and-a-half-week trial. In statements after sentencing, the victims’ fathers criticized Pollis for taking the case to trial rather than pleading guilty.
