Police body-camera footage shows Kamilia Chadli telling Seattle officers she was the victim after an alleged biting attack that injured another woman’s forehead downtown.
A court marshal detained Chadli, 36, at a bus stop outside the King County Courthouse on September 18. She told officers Diana Gonzalez had approached her near the Arctic Hotel on Cherry Street and lunged at her. Chadli said she pushed Gonzalez away, saw that Gonzalez was bleeding and went toward the courthouse to find police.
Gonzalez gave investigators a different account. She said Chadli threw a food wrapper at her while she was on a work break, then spat at her and used a homophobic slur. Gonzalez also said Chadli made a remark about race. Prosecutors allege Chadli pulled Gonzalez to the ground and bit off part of her forehead.
