A toddler died following a shooting inside a South Oak Cliff apartment early Sunday, prompting an investigation by Dallas police.
Officers responded to Oakwood Place Apartments on Wadsworth Drive at about 1 a.m. on October 11. They found the child wounded and tried to save the toddler’s life until paramedics arrived. The child was taken to a hospital and died soon after arrival.
Investigators spoke with the child’s mother, and Child Protective Services was alerted. Police have not identified the person who fired the gun or described the circumstances of the shooting.
