San Francisco police arrested Shakia Vanderbilt on Tuesday in the fatal shooting of a security guard at the Warfield on Market Street. Prosecutors have charged her with murder and a firearm enhancement in the death of Ulysses Tykee Davis, 47.
Police Chief Derrick Lew said Vanderbilt was escorted from the venue after a disruption. A dispute followed, ending in a shooting around 1 a.m. Saturday. Lew did not say whether Davis was targeted.
Davis was working security during a Baddies USA: Chapter Three event. Reports said his wife and two of his children were at the theater when he was shot. District Attorney Brooke Jenkins said Vanderbilt also faces charges of intentionally discharging a gun in an occupied building and possessing a firearm as a felon.
Vanderbilt was scheduled for arraignment Thursday afternoon. Jenkins said prosecutors would seek to hold her without bail.
