A break-in at a photographer’s rental car in downtown Oakland left an Antioch couple without their professional wedding photos. About $35,000 in equipment was stolen, including the hard drive and memory cards holding images from Jenna Wesenhagen-Banks and Nick Banks’s wedding.
Photographer David Martin said he parked near 10th and Washington streets at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and went into Swan’s Market for food. When he returned minutes later, the car’s windows were smashed. Martin said witnesses reported seeing a masked man get out of a green vehicle and break into the SUV.
The couple had married Sunday in Contra Costa County. Two cameras, lenses, a drone and a laptop were also taken. Martin said the equipment could be replaced, but the wedding photos could not.
