An 18-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of U.S. Coast Guard member Connor Overstreet in Skyway, Washington.
King County sheriff’s detectives and a SWAT team arrested Isaiah Altre Bolar at a Covington home on Oct. 1. Prosecutors allege he either fired the fatal shot or helped or encouraged the person who did.
Overstreet, 29, was shot near South 124th Street and South Langston Road early on Aug. 23. Investigators said he was with two friends riding scooters when people in a passing Toyota Prius yelled at them. After an exchange of words, the car turned around and stopped. A friend told detectives he saw a muzzle flash from inside the Prius as Overstreet leaned toward its front passenger window. Overstreet died at the scene.
