Election officials in metro Atlanta are urging voters to verify their registration and Election Day precinct before Georgia’s 2026 midterms. Both can be checked through the state’s voter portal at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
Anyone registering for the first time or needing to revise a name or address must do so by the state deadline. Clayton County elections director Shawna Dozier said people who have not voted for years may have inactive registrations; voting, updating their records or requesting a precinct card can restore active status.
Gwinnett County election supervisor Kelvin Williams warned that an early voting site may differ from a voter’s assigned Election Day location. Voters will choose candidates for statewide offices, congressional seats and all 236 seats in the Georgia General Assembly, as well as decide statewide ballot questions. Bartow County election supervisor Joseph Kirk said voting by mail does not require a reason.
